CARROLL COUNTY TRANSFER STATION

Bring your tires to this FREE* amnesty collection event during the transfer station’s opening hours between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. (closed on Sunday; check here). On Saturdays, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Keep Carroll Beautiful help will be available to at the Transfer Station to help those with mobility issues unload their tires.

Keep Carroll Beautiful partners with Carroll County Government, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, and Gradick Communications to host events like these! Most of our collection events are free to the public, although limits on drop-off may apply.

Tire amnesty events are funded with the help of the STAR EPD program grant, which helps us collect and recycle passenger vehicle tires from residents of Carroll County. Please help us keep Carroll County clean, green, and beautiful by responsibly disposing of your unwanted items.

* Up to 10 tires will be accepted for free. No rims. Additional tires are $5 each to be paid at drop off.

Amnesty events are an effective way to remove and recycle scrap tires that blight our communities and pose a health hazard for
residents. Tires piled up in outdoor spaces trap water and become breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Tires also harbor rats, snakes, and other pests.

Tired of Tires event rules:

  • There is a limit of 10 passenger vehicle tires (PVT) per resident. Additional tires may be dropped off for a fee of $5 a tire due at drop-off.
  • Larger tires will be converted into PVT equivalent and be subject to the 10-tire rule as well.
    • Each tractor-trailer tire is worth 10 PVTs.
  • Tires on rims will not be accepted.
  • If you are cleaning a tire dump from your property, please call us at 678-321-4816.
