15 Days of Green Tips for 15 years of Keep Carroll Beautiful
Day 12 – Recycling during COVID pandemic
This post is a part of the “15 Days of Green Tips for 15 years of Keep Carroll Beautiful” Virtual Birthday Celebration. Every day between April 8 and April 22, a member of KCB Board, Staff, or the public, will share their favorite tips on how to Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle!
Today, Brad Prince – Vice-President of Keep Carroll Beautiful Board of Directors and Associate Dean of the Richards College of Business with the University of West Georgia, will talk to us about recycling during social-distancing and other COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
Over the last few weeks, we had a lot of questions about the City of Carrollton recycling pickup and Carroll County Convenience Centers. Please listen to Brad’s message on how to recycle the plastics while the COVID-19 social distancing measures are in place.
Impact on local services:
In an effort to maintain garbage service and protect our public works staff, we have placed crews on rotating schedules – which means we are operating with fewer crew members per route. Pick up may take longer than usual or extend to the day following your normal pick-up time. We are also discontinuing recycling services until further notice.
Please place bins out for your usual pick up and leave out until we’ve arrived. If possible, place all items (trash + recycling) into one bin to expedite the process. Source.
Carroll County, GA, Convenience Centers remain open. Please remember all the items need to be sorted for drop off. Also – the recycling containers may be full or in transit to a recycling facility and temporarily unavailable. Please be patient and try again in a few days if you experience any issues.
