On February 7th, 2024, Keep Carroll Beautiful excitedly welcomed Carroll County community members to our Bradley Street Office to talk some trash!

On the Table was initiated by the Community Foundation of West Georgia to encourage a friendly exchange of ideas on issues important to the community.

This year, KCB focused its discussion on the upcoming Community Appearance Index, an annual roadside litter audit. The results provide metrics that help determine the impact of litter on the quality of life in the community. They also help set goals and develop effective community improvement education programs and projects.

KCB staff and board welcomed community members affiliated with the Georgia Department of Transportation, Carrollton Civic Woman’s Club, and Carrollton businesses. Together, we discussed solutions to the litter issue in Carroll County.

Highlights from 2024 On the Table Litter Discussion:

  1. The annual Community Appearance Index begins on February 10th and lasts until the 25th. By conducting this litter audit, we can better determine which areas need extra care to maintain a beautiful community. Click here to learn more!
  2. With Spring just around the corner, KCB’s Adopt-A-Road program is gaining traction. The Adopt-A-Road program supplies volunteers with everything they need to conduct litter cleanups on Carroll County roads. To sign up for the program and see a list of roads available for adoption, click here!
  3. We want everyone to be excited about litter prevention! That’s why KCB is looking to partner with local schools to engage with students and get them interested in the beautification of their community. If you are a teacher or faculty member interested in setting up a fun way to promote litter prevention, call us at (678) 321-4816

KCB will use these ideas to further our litter prevention outreach and enhance our ongoing programming for 2024 and beyond.
