Changes to daily operations

Following the developing situation surrounding the Coronavirus/COVID-19 and to minimize any risk to staff, board members, and the public, Keep Carroll Beautiful, Inc is making changes to its operations.

KCB Office access

Starting March 18, 2020, KCB is closing its office to the public. Please excuse delays in answering your calls and emails – we are going through your messages Wednesday to Friday and we will answer them as soon as possible. In the meantime, please follow the updates on our website, read the press releases, and follow us on social media (Facebook @keepcarrollbeautiful, Instagram @keepcarrollbeau, and Twitter @keepcarrollbeau).

For the fastest response, reach out through Facebook Messenger (does not require a Facebook account).

In-office recycling

Following up on some of the social-media comments, Keep Carroll Beautiful is not a recycling collection facility. Keep Carroll Beautiful only collects specific items through recycling events (like E-Recycling or Tires Recycling Event) or recycling programs in which we accept specific items by appointment only.

We do not accept any household or business recyclables without pre-approval.

As we need to make sure that our staff is not exposed to health hazards through contact with the general public or with any surfaces that may be contaminated, we are suspending in-office recycling until further notice.

Please do not drop anything off in the back of the office and do not move the sign from the driveway.

Volunteer Programs

Keep Carroll Beautiful is suspending the Adopt-A-Road and Adopt-A-Trail programs until further notice.

As we are trying to be cautious and follow the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations regarding public events and gatherings, we cannot expect or encourage our volunteers to continue meeting for cleanups.

Recycling during COVID-19

Carroll County, GA maintains regular operating hours for the convenience centers. KCB encourages the community to continue to recycle utilizing the convenience centers. The hours and locations of convenience centers are available here:
https://www.keepcarrollbeautiful.org/r…/convenience-centers/

The City of Carrollton, GA continues regular trash pick up, however, the recycling pickup has been suspended until further notice. You can:

  • Collect recycling for the later pickup.
  • Take your recyclables to the Carroll County convenience centers (please see above).
  • Remember the recyclables will need to be sorted for drop off at the centers and that the County only accepts plastics #1 and #2 (think PET bottles, milk jugs).
  • Throw your recyclables away with regular trash – the City asks you only use one bin at the time to speed the collection process.
