Carrollton, GA – February 7, 2025 – The upcoming Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Paper Shredding event will be held in partnership with the Carroll County Solid Waste Department on Saturday, May 17th, 2025, between 9 am and 1 pm. This year’s event will take place at Midway Church located at 1 Midway Church Dr., Villa Rica, GA, 30180.

This free amnesty event provides all residents of Carroll County the perfect opportunity to safely dispose of many potentially hazardous materials used in homes, gardens, and garages.

The collection includes all types of paint and paint products, caustic cleaners – acid or alkaline, garden chemicals, including fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, vehicle fluids, and all sorts of batteries, as well as items containing lead and mercury. For a full list of accepted materials, exclusions, and more information on this event, please visit https://www.keepcarrollbeautiful.org/recycling/hhw/.

At the same time, the paper shredding part of the event will provide a free way to safely dispose of post-tax-season financial documents, medical records, and any other sensitive paperwork. We partner with Access to shred and destroy your confidential files beyond reconstruction and dispose of them securely and in an environmentally friendly manner. However, we cannot guarantee the files will be shredded on-site.

This event is made possible by the Alice Huffards Richards fund and Carroll EMC Foundation, Community Foundation of West Georgia, Gradrick Communications, Magnum Paving, GMS Planning, and more. Thank you for your support!
