The upcoming Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Paper Shredding event will be held in partnership with Carroll County Solid Waste Department on Saturday, May 20th, 2023, between 9 am and 1 pm. This year’s event will take place in the OFS Furukawa campus parking lot, off 399 Adamson Industrial Boulevard, in Carrollton, Georgia.

This free amnesty event provides all residents of Carroll County the perfect opportunity to safely dispose of many potentially hazardous materials used in homes, gardens, and garages.

Included in the collection are all types of paint and paint products; caustic cleaners – acid or alkaline; garden chemicals, including fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides; vehicle fluids, all sorts of batteries, and fluorescent tube bulbs, and items containing lead and mercury. For a full list of accepted materials and exclusions, please visit https://www.keepcarrollbeautiful.org/recycling/hhw/.

At the same time, the Paper Shredding part of the event will provide a free way to safely dispose of post-tax-season financial documents, medical records, and any other sensitive paperwork. We partner with Access to shred and destroy your confidential files beyond reconstruction and dispose of them securely and in an environmentally friendly manner. However, we cannot guarantee the files will be shredded on-site.
