(Carrollton, Ga.– July 06, 2009) – The annual theme for the 2009 Community Vacation Bible School was “Discovery Canyon – Explore the Wonders of the World”. In the spirit of stewardship of the earth, the local charity designated as the recipient for the mission offering for the week was Keep Carroll Beautiful. Students who attended the classes, held over five days at Carrollton Presbyterian Church, were encouraged to bring supplies to help with the local “Adopt-A-Road program administered by Keep Carroll Beautiful. Cash offerings were also accepted.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors for Keep Carroll Beautiful, we are grateful to be a part of this effort to encourage young people to be good stewards of our environment,”
said Jacqueline C. Dost, executive director of Keep Carroll Beautiful. “The donations of gloves, bags and hand sanitizer will stock our shelves as we continue to grow our Adopt-A-Road efforts throughout Carroll County”
The Community Vacation Bible School is held during the third week of June each year and is a partnership between Carrollton Presbyterian Church, Grace Lutheran Church, St. Andrew United Methodist Church and St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church.
